Hello everyone! Let me start off by telling how great my
week has been so far. After our loss to Indiana, we bounced back after a very
slow start against the Chicago Sky. I had a chance to see my former teammate
Sylvia Fowles and her mom, then The Reverend Jesse Jackson who attended the
game came in the locker room after. He was such a kind man and spoke about how
well he thought we played and how much he enjoyed the game. He said he wants to
let everyone know how much fun our game is and that we should be getting more
people to our games because in his words " you girls don't play." Lol
-- and he's right. He also spoke to us briefly about the importance of Title IX
and how we need to make sure we stay on top of it so that young girls can
continue in sports. Following this we took pictures with him and we then closed in prayer Led by Mr.
Jackson. He prayed for all of us, Mr. Nelson Mandela, and for our country. With
that being said I want to Say Happy Fourth of July to all, celebrate the
independence but also be careful. We
have Washington Mystic coming up on the 6th but in the mean time we will enjoy
DC a little but but also rest up to try and get us another road win.
Take care everyone, I will speak with you all soon.
